April Wish List
Today's post was either going to be an anti-haul or a wish list...and I went with the latter. My reasoning was that if I pushed back the date of this post, I might try to get sneaky with myself and purchase some items not on this list.
I have no plans in purchasing every single item from this list because I'm notthat crazy. The point in making this list is to streamline my purchases of the month and cut down on impulse purchases. I'm totally guilty of buying things simply because there's a sale or because it's new. If 80% of my purchases of the month come from this list, I'll be a happy camper.
With the upcoming Sephora sale, I'm particularly vulnerable at making impulse purchases. The other day I was looking at my Sephora purchase history and I've only bought three things so far this year for myself that I've ended up keeping-- the Tarte frxxxtion stick, the Hourglass girl lip stylo, and the Drunk Elephant Lippie gift set. Even though there is a sale this month, I'd like to keep with my trend of reasonable Sephora spending.
1. Kypris Antioxidant Dew
There's really no need for me to put this Kypris serum on my wish list seeing that I still haven't tried the Moonlight Catalyst serum I bought back in February... but I've been reading up on antioxidant dew and am convinced I will love it.
I've given oils a second chance and have had good results with Algenist's anti-aging repairing oil so naturally my next instinct is to try out a second oil (not saying it's logical, just that it's train of thought.)
2. Tata Harper Balancing Act Set
I have a hate/ love relationship with minis. On one hand they're so cute and convenient for trying out new products. On the other hand sometimes I feel burdened by the amount of minis I own and feel obligated to finish them up which I don't find particularly exciting or enjoyable. I used to think Tata Harper was a brand that was expensive for no reason at all...but I would still like to try them out to find out for myself. After learning that they're a green beauty brand who produces their products in small amounts in the US and utilizes sustainable business practices, I'm more understanding of their prices.
The item that really attracted me to the set is their clarifying spot solution. I've been looking for a good spot solution for the past few months and have yet to bite the bullet one this one. Chris at Tophcam posted a review of this spot treatment on Instagram and included before and after shots-- I urge you to click through because the results really speak for themselves!
3. Bite Beauty Multisticks
I've been wanting these sticks for da longest timmmmme. The hype around them has died down and I still want them so I feel comfortable buying one or two colors during the Sephora sale. I've been seeing many muted yet still colorful monochromatic looks and the multi-sticks seem like the best tool to achieve the look.
4. Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Green Tea, & Aloe
I've been really good at resisting the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty deals and have yet to purchase anything from the sale. The one deal that tempted me from the announcement of the event is their 25% off Mario Badescu sale. I can't justify buying anymore skincare and I really can't justify buying anymore mists... but I'll compromise with myself and allow myself this one concession. Instead of buying the 4 or 5 things on my Mario Badescu wish list, I'll allow myself this one spray. Now I just hope it's in stock the day of the sale π
5. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz
While I enjoy the Colourpop brow pencil I bought a few months ago, the packaging of the ABH brow wiz is far superior-- the spoolie is better, the pencil can be retracted, and the lids click in place. Because Ulta is offering them for $10 as a beauty steal of the day on the 8th, I'll probably stock up on 2 or 3.
6. Maison Martin Margiela Lazy Sunday Morning
The price of this perfume makes me want to cry... but the smell of it also makes me want to throw my money at it. There's a 98% chance that I don't bite the bullet on this, but what better time to do it than when Sephora has a 15% off sale? (& the answer to that question is when Sephora has a 20% off sale.)
7. Cosrx PHA Moisture Renewal Power Cream
I love Cosrx, I love chemical exfoliants, and I've never tried any PHA products. Tbh I don't even really know what PHAs are... but I'm a lemming so this must be mine πππ. I don't have a link or photo of it because it hasn't been released yet.
8. Mommy! UV Mild Gel SPF 30 PA+++
Lately I've been trying to figure out if I'm sensitive to dimethicone/ silicones in general but unfortunately most of the sunscreens in my arsenal contain some level of silicone. Not only is this sunscreen free of silicones, but it's also free of alcohol! It also doesn't hurt that it has the cutest packaging and a pump!
And that's my wish list of the month! What's on your wish list? Do you have any recommendations for products that I should include in my wish list for next month? π
