Happy Haul-i-days! | Black Friday Haul Part I | Blogmas Day 5
If I were a poet I could wax on about my love for Black Friday. While I hate waiting in long lines and struggling to find parking, I actually enjoy the other aspects of the day! I like being amongst the hustle and bustle of cheery holiday shoppers looking to find great deals. It also helps that I go at a reasonable hour and avoid stores like Target and Best Buy where most of the mayhem lies.
Some of my purchases haven't come in yet so I decided to split my haul into two because I'm impatient. Also then each post comes out looking a teeny bit more reasonable π
Anastasia Beverly Hills Single Eyeshadows
Regular Price: $12.00 each Sale Price: $4.80 each
These shadows along with the Drunk Elephant set were the only things I was planning on buying on Black Friday. I've heard such great things about the ABH singles and for 60% I couldn't resist picking up a few shades. I've swatched them before at Macy's and Sephora and am always amazed at the pigmentation and softness!
They did a restock of them on Monday and I ended up buying 6 more which will be arriving later this month. No swatches of these 6 yet because I will be doing a full post on all 12 of them in the future! Also... I was tired π
Regular Price: $34.00 Sale Price: $17.00
Okay, I totally admit to buying this palette cause it was on sale. It wasn't even on my radar until I saw it had unexpectedly gone 50% off at Ulta and Sephora on Black Friday. And since I was already at Ulta with my mom buying Christmas presents, I went ahead and impulse bought it.
True to Becca's branding, the blushes in this palette give such a beautiful glow! Overall I think this is a fantastic value and if you spot it on sale in stores, definitely consider snatching it up!
Drunk Elephant C-Ing Is Believing
Regular Price: $83.00 ($104 Value) Sale Price: $58.10
I've wanted to try out Drunk Elephant out forever, but I didn't make any willy-nilly purchases since they're so pricey. I passed on trying out some of their serums during the VIB sale, but when Dermstore had a 30% off promo on Black Friday I couldn't help but indulge myself.
I bought the C-ing is Believing set mostly because it includes a full sized C-Firma Day Serum and for $2.10 more I get to try out three more of their products! This C-Firma serum is supposed to be the top o' the line, best in the market vitamin C serum. It has a killer ingredient list and a long shelf life which earns it that top shelf spot.
Unfortunately I already have so many other skincare things in my "to try" queue that I probably won't be getting around to this until next year π«
If you are curious about this serum but don't want to buy the full size, Sephora has a mini size available in a set for less than $25 here!
Lancome Miracle Cushion Foundation
Regular Price: $47.00 Sale Price: $23.50
Prior to Black Friday Lancome was selling their Miracle Cushion Foundation for 50% off on their site. As a lover of K-beauty and a lover of sales, I decided to give it a try. Since most if not all Korean brands do not offer shades dark enough for my skintone, I was happy to find a cushion that I could finally try!
At first I thought cushions were a bit gimmicky... but after trying this I'm starting to get why people love them. I think I'll be reviewing this at some point in the future!
Sephora Collection
Regular Price: $10.00 (Value: $18.00); Back in stock online!
I initially had not planned on purchasing anything from the Sephora Black Friday sale buuuut I was placing an order for gifts anyways and was $5 under the free shipping threshold so this happened. On the plus side all three are items I will definitely use!
Smashbox Light It Up Primer
Regular Price: $36.00 (Value: $52.00 ) Sale Price: $12.00
So if you saw my last unboxings post, you might have seen the Macy's Black Friday Preview I linked. One of the items pictured on the page was this Smashbox set...although I'm 99% sure it was a typo because when the sales went live online and in store, the set didn't go on sale!
But I figured I would ask the sales associates in stores if it was on sale because ya never know, and he was able to honor the price! So basically I got a $52 worth of Smashbox primers for $12!
I already use and love both products so this was the best purchase of my haul!
Last but not least, my Lord & Taylor haul!
I've never seen anyone talking about Lord & Taylor's beauty sales online. A few times a year they offer $20 off $40 purchase coupons, including beauty! Of course I took advantage and picked up a few items I have been eyeing over the last few months.
Nars Precision Contour Brush #44
Regular Price: $28.00 Sale Price: $14.00
I'm mostly a drugstore brush kinda gal, but last holiday season I bought at MAC 217 brush and it totally changed my eyeshadow game. I've been looking for a small, dense brush to blend eyeshadow into my outer corner when this Nars brush came across my radar. I had initially planned on buying a Zoeva brush, but with the shipping costs it would be more expensive than this Nars brush.
I read some reviews which found this brush to be comparable in quality to those super fancy Japanese brushes which aren't readily available in the US. According to the Sephora site this brush is made of 80 percent pen super AAA goat and 20 percent pony... which means nothing to me, but it sounds good, right?
Nars Audacious Lipstick in Mona
Regular Price: $32.00 Sale Price: $16.00
Out of all the lipsticks I have ever tried, Nars Audacious are my absolute favorite. If I could buy every single color, I would. But until that happens, I'll continue to buy one or two a year (which I'm still thankful for!) They're so creamy and pigmented. They don't cling to dry patches. They fade nicely. They're the only lipstick that I would have no problem paying over $30 for.
Earlier this year Nars released a few new colors for their fall collection and amongst them was Mona. It's a lovely, darker brick red that would look good on a large spectrum of skin tones.
Regular Price: $38.00 Sale Price: $22.00
Ever since I realized my favorite Nars Tinted Moisturizer was breaking me out, I've been looking for a new foundation. This Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation gets so so so so so so much hype that I had to place it on my wish list. And for almost 50% off, now was the time to finally give it a try.
Shiseido Cotton
Regular Price: $9.50 Sale Price: $4.75
I use these cotton pads everyday so I was happy to snag some for 50% off.
TonyMoly Tea Tree Sheet Mask
Regular Price: $3.75 Sale Price: $1.87
This was basically a filler item that I bought to meet the $40 threshold. You can buy a variety pack of 11 TonyMoly masks for $10-$11 on Amazon which is a much better deal.
Besides for the Drunk Elephant set, I got everything for around 50% off or more! I'd say that's some successful Black Friday shopping π
What did you buy this Black Friday/ Cyber Monday? And if you were good and resisted all the sales, props to you! Have a piece of chocolate on me π
